DEVELOPER PRACTICE
A browser draft is not your backup plan.
Local recovery and account saving solve different problems.
SKIENET Editorial · October 30, 2026 · Project notes & perspectives

The question
ENET IDE preserves a browser draft after editing and lets members explicitly save source to their account. The local draft can help after a reload, but clearing browser data or using another device changes what is available.
How it relates to SKIENET
Account files and downloaded source are separate copies. Before replacing a working program, save or download it. Naming versions clearly is more reliable than relying on memory to reconstruct the last good edit.
An experiment to try
A useful exercise is to export a small program, reopen it and run it again. The recovery test matters more than simply seeing a file in a list. Check that the output still matches the intended behavior.
Limits and next steps
For larger engineering projects, version control, independent backups and restore testing remain important. Browser convenience does not promise unlimited retention or replace a release process. Keep private data out of public project posts.
