ENET 201 · SYLLABUS
Decisions & Repetition
Build programs that make decisions and process repeated work.
Learning outcomes
- Combine boolean conditions
- Use fixed-count repetition
- Accumulate totals predictably
Module schedule
MODULE 1 · Study → Live lab → Practice
Conditions & comparisons
if runs its block when its expression is true. Supported comparisons include ==, !=, <, <=, > and >=. The opening brace goes on the condition line and the closing brace on its own line. else is not supported in 0.1.
Assignment: Lower the score to test the other decision.
MODULE 2 · Study → Live lab → Practice
Combine conditions
Use && for AND, || for OR, and ! for NOT. true and false are boolean values. AND and OR short-circuit: the second expression is evaluated only when needed.
Assignment: Set reviewed to false to test a missing review.
MODULE 3 · Study → Live lab → Practice
Count with repeat
repeat executes a block a fixed number of times. Its count must be a non-negative integer. A counter declared outside the block can be updated with set.
Assignment: Create a five-step practice plan.
MODULE 4 · Study → Live lab → Practice
Accumulate a total
An accumulator stores the running result. Each repeat iteration gets a local scope; set can still update values in its enclosing scope.
Assignment: Calculate the sum of the first six positive integers.
Final project: A readiness-check report
Produce a readiness report and a three-check practice log using declared sample values, not a real source scan.
- Require both testsPass and docsReady for approval
- Print Review needed if either is false
- Print numbered check entries using repeat
Review correctness against the sample output, readability, comments and the documented limits of your prototype. Extend and test additional inputs after completing the sample.
